Water, Food and Plane

Hi darlings. And how is the water condition at your place?

For the longest time (that I can remember), this is the first time that we experience a water cut. Sepanjang hidup rasanya tak pernah terjadi banci air. Even in the 80s / early 90s? during the Commonwealth games when almost the whole of Klang Valley was affected with the cut, people in Melawati were still washing cars and watering their plants like nobody's business. I remember my maid washing the porch then. Lalu saya kata sudah lah tu. Kesian pulak memikirkan orang lain tak ada air walhal kami pula masih bersenang2 dengan pembaziran air.

Semalam air yang keluar dari paip amat perlahan. Hari ini langsung tiada. But Alhamdulillah we are prepared. And Alhamdulillah we are not in an apartment on the 10th or 20th floor somewhere.

Alhamdulillah no water also means no cooking. Which I am taking full advantage of!

We were at a place called Nyonya Valley yesterday. It is a small restaurant on MRR2 that serves macam2 nyonya dishes including lauk-pauk dan noodles.

The waitress recommended the lime and garlic steamed fish; which we like. And the char kway teow was the nicest that I had in a long time.

We were also at Cupcake Chapter (next door to the Nyonya Valley) again -

We had their honey & lemon chicken, barbequed lamb shoulder and chicken cordon bleu (picture; we love the sos cili smiley); which were all delish. So are their caramel and chocolate muffin. And assorted cupcakes that we ordered. Rupanya dinner is a full house affair at the place. Cantik dengan meja2 kat luar kedai under the canopy. Seriously charming. You must come have dinner here.

And then we were at Pegaga; also on the same row with the other 2 places. Theirs is a more traditional Melayu dishes like the name suggests. Unfortunately tak ada gambar.

And. I also find this along the same row of shops.

It is a rather hip cafe called Kafe Skrin (macam untuk orang2 wayang jadi saya pun agak2 cuak nak masuk). I will try this also soon (tomorrow, if the water is still not turned back on?) But I am all for the messages that they have pinned on the front door.

Doa banyak2 untuk mangsa MH. For the family. For the plane to be found. MAS. Dan maruah negara. Ugama. Bangsa.

~ xoxo
